the manifestation process:

  1. Once your maternity or motherhood session is booked, the “manifestation process” begins. I get to know you, your style and all about your journey! We begin with an initial creative consultation over a video call, followed by a written style questionnaire. Once direction is established - research and development begins. I love using Pinterest to gather and share ideas, so I will have you share your board or set of images with the styles that speaks to you. We will bounce ideas and refine the looks even further and ultimately will create our final style board. The style board will serve as loose inspiration for the feeling, purpose & overall vibe of the final images. This process allows us to plan and see the vision all the way through- planning details such as mood, color palettes, hair + makeup, wardrobe, posing, lighting, props, location etc.. I truly believe once something is in your mind’s eye it flows that much easier! Below, are a few examples of style boards and how we brought the vision to life.

2. It’s time to make some magic!!

editing- retouching & color:

The last creative step is the editing process. Each selected photo is professionally retouched to make it the best it could be. This process includes: skin correction, skin softening, blemish removal, object removal, highlighting/contouring, body contouring, volumizing hair - etc. All retouching is just to clean up the image therefore minimal retouching is done to maintain realism. Once retouching is complete, the colors of the image will be selected. This will change the tones to harmonize the photo and further convey the mood we are trying to achieve.

Below is an example of a retouched and color graded image. Left is before (straight out of camera) and right is the final image.
